Sandy's Service Station still languishes in Walsenburg, Colorado. It is surrounded by power lines, dumpsters, and overgrown small town sprawl. This is how I imagine it looked in the beginning. It's part of my RELIC series.
Susan was fortunate to spend 13 years living and traveling in Europe. She made a personal goal to visit every major art museum referenced in her art history classes from Stockholm to Madrid, from the caves of Lascaux, France to the Labyrinth of King Minos in Crete. After several years teaching high school art, Susan continues working in those media in her free time.
